Projection, resolution & sources

Globe by default; flat view is north-up equirectangular. Equal angular spacing stretches polar areas in the flat map.

576 × 288 native cells, 0.625° (about 70 km north–south). Present-day textures: 8192 × 4096; history: 4096 × 2048. Display interpolation adds no simulation detail.

Relief is an optional 40× display exaggeration of positive topography. It changes no world state. Negative bathymetry remains on the reference sphere.

Snapshots are 40 My apart; crossfades are not interpolated plate motion. Smooth motion needs a re-run that saves every step. Climate, rivers, volcano records and provinces have no saved frame history here and remain at 400 My.

Feature symbols & recorded counts

Screen-space clusters show the visible record count; zoom separates them. Arrows point from the downgoing to the overriding plate where the saved fields support polarity. Label density adapts to zoom. Province IDs are shortened on the map; select for the public catalogue number and interval.
